Keeper came into my life as a young dog that had been given up by one owner after six months of living with her and then tried by
another and that did not work out (None of which was his fault). Then I made
a call to Lynn and asked her if she had any Aussies available and she told me no pups but I have
this 10 month old Aussie red-tri gave his history and I know you will love him come out and take a look!
Well as the story line goes one look that is all it took! Keeper is a gorgeous red-tri boy inside and out.
He stands 20” tall some 48 pounds and his work ethics are phenomenal. He gives all the time 110% of anything
he does and in his almost 11 years he has never stopped giving me his 110% and has been my sidekick, best bud,
heeling partner, agility runner, you name it…he is there! We got our start in obedience rather late since I as his
mom could not make up my mind what I wanted to do. When we got started there was no stopping us.
Straight to the top! He is the type of dog who you can show something once rarely twice and he has it.
Maybe not perfect but that does not take him long to perfect anything, now mom on the other hand….
he babysits me a lot.  Our obedience career has been full of many 1st place wins, ranked in the top 10 many times,
and High Aussie, High In Trial and then High Combines. Now that is a huge “high” when you can win those, and there
has been a few along the way. Due to Keeper’s age and the type of conditions that he would have to jump
on I have backed off of our quest for his OTCH since he would have to most of the time
lets say all the time jump on concrete, rarely are you able to find a show that boast lush rubber matting.  Since my main
man is such a leaper as you can see by many of his pictures I felt for the sake of his body and health we would back
off and do more things grounded. Thus our Veterans Obedience Classes and we have boosted 1st places there
as well including Nationals! This is not to say that my hopes someday  maybe to bring Keeper back (if they ever have senior class or
safer flooring) in the Utility and Open ring to finish what we started, he is so close so very close…
His agility years where filled with such funny and pleasant stories of how he did this and did you see him and how the
crowd applauded when he did that. Yep Keeper has always been a crowd pleaser with his antics on the agility field not
to say he can’t do it, no don’t misunderstand it is that he jumps so far away from the jump leaving the ground way before
he should and he makes it all the time…and boy does the crowd just gasp! Of course I have a huge smile watching him
and Tammy since I know that he is going to make it! Keeper was the first point earner in the ASCA Altered Conformation program, not
many know this but true. That was a really proud day and it happens to be with my daughter Tammy
at the lead. Since then Keeper has had some really nice gals leading him around the ring, Tammy my daughter,
Lynn Nathe, “Me”…ouch!  and Kim ‘Waller, and Maria Neff as a “Jr.” then.  Keeper met Maria when she was just
starting her Jr. Career they hit  it off tremendously. After meeting they both showed at a lot of Nationals together since
we live so far away from her and that is about the only time we could get together. Between Tammy and Maria they
have put 4 Premiers on Keeper, and the very last in 2006 at West Bend, Wisconsin with Tammy handling.
It was certainly a very proud moment  since the old boy was a Senior Citizen! Yes, I would say Keeper is my one in
a life time Aussie, who no matter what  I ask of him he is there for me.I can remember like it was yesterday this
young pup who was so full of life and eager  to please, and through the years he is still my young pup and always
there to please!
